About Minnie
Minnie
McBeth O’Banner
Minnie believes that people can overcome anything “With God all-anything
is possible.” It is not the disaster in your life but the way you
handle it…that matters. She began exploring health and healing,
psychology and science, and nutrition over 30 years ago. This search
became her passion in 1980 after giving birth to a healthy baby girl,
and two years later being diagnosed with terminal cancer with approximately
six weeks to live. In her search for significance the healing and restorative
power of God became apparent to her.
In her gratitude and thankfulness for life, she began a relentless humanistic
acumen of facilitating, developing and implementing programs and services
to individuals of all ages, cultures and ethnic origins. Over a span
of 27 years, she worked with corporations, federal, state and local
governments, community, public, private and Christ-centered organizations.
Her primary
focus was providing behavioral health, leadership and administrative
services; often holding volunteer positions with local welfare, county
courts, shelters, juvenile centers, boot camps, job corps and prisons.
Minnie encountered a personal life that has fostered a relentless foundation
of Love, Compassion and Faith for overcoming any obstacle in life.
Through her involvement in pioneering quality care for the elderly
and youth; eventually it became apparent to her that a principle was
in effect. “As
a man thinks so is he; spiritual, physical, and soul (mind will and
emotions). It was clear to her that overall wellness was inextricably
linked to
our focus and what we were giving our attention.
Recognizing this, she began an ever-deepening exploration to help others
through tough situations. An exhaustive, yet satisfying journey of
helping others understand that they can effect change in their lives,
experiencing
healing, deliverance and total restoration. Pastors, Doctors and Therapists
alike are recommending Minnie to their members and clients. She is
successfully bridging the gap of spirituality, science and psychology.
She has owned and operated four successful Therapeutic health and service-related
companies. She conducted Individual and Group Therapy sessions for
the past 30 years of her life with evidence of miracles and significant
life
changes. She has conducted workshops, training/teaching seminars and
spoke for women conferences and retreats.
Minnie has a unique heritage in that she was born and raised in the
south, Jackson, Mississippi. She received her Bachelor of Science in
Sociology
and minor in psychology at an international integrated Christian college
in the south. She received her Master of Science degree at University
of Tennessee School of Social Work, Post grad studies include completion
of one year at University of Georgia Doctoral Social Work Administration
Program, and heath care studies at University of Colorado.
Currently she is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified
Master Social Work Addiction Counselor, Certified Master Social Work
Domestic Violence Counselor, and Certified Thought/Emotion Field Therapist
(Roger Callahan Institute). She currently is pursuing clinical certification
as Juvenile Treatment Specialist and PhD in Christian Counseling. Her
greatest passion is helping others through difficult times; spending
quality time with her immediate family: daughter, Tyra, son-in-law
Errol, their three children: Jujuan, Tyler and Erriel; extended family;
and
friends.
About Tyra
Tyra McBeth Simon
Tyra currently resides in Lithonia, Georgia with her three
children and loving husband. Although this seems to be a fairy-tale ending,
she did not always see the pot of gold at the end of her rainbow during her
storm of a life. Tyra has a story to tell. Her story is different from any
story you've heard before, because its HERS! It's her testimony that she
graciously would like to share with you. The ONLY reason that she wants her
story told is because GOD placed it in her heart to do so.
You may like to know that she graduated from the University of West Georgia
with a Bachelor of Arts in English and completed Behavior Disorder Certification
with a 4.0 from Clark Atlanta University. It may even interest you to know
that she is currently working towards a Masters in Educational Leadership
at Capella University. She loves spending time with her family..
Tyra invites you to walk in her shoes, only if you will realize that
your shoe is no different from hers. Most will say, experience is the best
teacher ... Tyra would say, "What's the use of experiencing, if you
CHOSE to keep making the same mistakes"? Know that you are not alone
in your struggle called life, but know that you are alone if you CHOSE to
stay there. The only person standing in your way is YOU! Let the grace of
GOD pull you through, so you, too can have a story to tell.
